Military Cargo
SAL Logistics offers military
cargo services for supplies, equipment and mails delivered on a daily basis.
The cargo, which travels by land, sea and air, requires special handling.
Ensuring the safe arrival at the correct destinations of any and all
military cargo is the responsibility of the well trained professional crew
members. They load and unload supplies using material handling equipment
such as forklifts and cranes, as well as plan and organize loading
schedules, creates/reviews. SAL understands the urgency of speedy movement
of supplies and equipment as demanded by military and is equipped to meet
all exigencies.

SAL Logistics has extensive
experience in packaging and transporting hazardous material via. air, sea
and road transportation. The company can arrange pickup and delivery from
all major trading centers throughout the world. SAL Logistics is efficiently
backed by a knowledge based team updated with governmental regulations
worldwide including Australia, the European Community (especially Germany),
Japan and many developing countries.
Our procedures concerning dangerous goods are based on the following
references:

- SOLAS regulation
- MARPOL convention
- IMDG Code
- French Vessel safety rules
- International Maritime Organisation
No dangerous goods can be loaded on SAL's vessels or vessels freighted by
SAL without prior acceptance of SAL Dangerous Cargo Office who will issue
acceptance number. Acceptance of hazardous cargoes does not relieve shipper
and booking agent of their obligations and agent will be held fully
responsible for any consequences arising out of their negligence, or
negligence of any person working for them directly or indirectly.

After shipper's agreement the customer will receive a dangerous good
declaration, which he will provide at the time of loading. For maritime
transport of dangerous goods, materials or articles, the International
Maritime Organisation has classified them in 9 classes:
- Class 1, Explosives
- Class 2, Gases
- Class 3, Flammable liquids
- Class 4, Flammable solids
- Class 5, Oxidizing substances organic peroxides
- Class 6, Toxic and infectious substances
- Class 7, Radioactive material
- Class 8, Corrosives substances

It is essential that the air waybills for perishable shipments are
completed and should be accurate in all respects. Full name, address and
telephone number of the shipper and consignee must be mentioned. Temperature
requirements must be indicated in the air waybill and may be marked on
packages in bold letters below the name and address of the consignee.

handle over-dimensional shipments safely, whether they are moving overseas,
locally, or anywhere within the country. The company is well versed in the
required permits, legal restrictions and necessary equipment to ensure the
smooth transit of over-dimensional freight anywhere in the world.
Specially designed containers and material handling equipment are used to
carry Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) and Over Weight Cargo (OWC) such as
oilfield equipment, power plants, compressor stations and so on. For bulkier
cargo, special equipment with larger capacity is used. We have well
maintained transport facilities to move the ODC and overweight cargo from
your factory to the gateway port or vice versa.
